What is Sustainability?

Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same.

This earth belongs to all of us and so does the responsibility to preserve it.

Hitachi Global Air Power takes this responsibility seriously. The Hitachi Environmental Innovation 2050 plan sets environmental targets including becoming carbon neutral in all Hitachi global factories and offices by fiscal 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality throughout its entire Hitachi value chain by fiscal 2050.

Happening from the ground up, Hitachi is thinking of sustainability at every step.

Our “5 ‘R’ ” strategy includes ways to reduce waste and keep usable parts out of a landfill. Plus, remanufacturing helps replace an old product with a more efficient, cleaner running one.

  • Remanufacturing recovers old equipment, recycles parts and helps return more efficient products to the market.
  • Rebuilding using recovered products and parts
  • Repairing or restoring parts
  • Reuse of products and parts
  • Recycle material as much as able when it is no longer usable
